  • 3/5 Tequila
  • 1/5 fresh lime juice

How to make it

Frost the rim of the glass with salt. Place some ice cubes in the shaker and add Cointreau, Tequila and lime juice. Shake for 6-8 seconds and strain into the glass with some ice cubes. Serve undecorated. The cocktail is ready.

Variations and note

This is the first cocktail based on Tequila and Cointreau; it was invented by Sames Margarita, a lady in Acapulco, for 1948 Christmas holidays. Now it is well known all over the world. But it is different from Margarita (IBA cocktail).
